Working from home has become the norm over the last couple of years, thanks to the pandemic when most people were forced to set up their office in their lounge or bedroom. However, if you want to encourage more employees back into the office building in 2023, here are some ways to go about it. 

Privacy

According to the Trades Union Congress, 23 per cent of men and 21 per cent of women worked from home in 2021, which is a big increase from the eight per cent and six per cent respectively who did so in 2019. 

One of the attractions of continuing to work from home after offices re-opened following the pandemic was having as much privacy as you wanted. That is why it could be a good idea to install more internal glass partitions in the office, allowing employees to have their own personal space while they are hard at work. 

Offer incentives

Another way to make office life more appealing is to offer incentives to get workers back on site, which is what 88 per cent of companies are currently doing, according to workplace platform Envoy. 

This could be offering more money, a shorter working week, free food, or more paid time off. 

Positive working environment 

A disadvantage of working from home is missing out on the social side of being in the office, so make sure you really drive this in 2023, creating a positive and enjoyable working environment. 

You could hold more team building days, provide catered lunches, better connect staff members, such as new starters, with others through coffee mornings and events, and arrange one-off experiences.
